Thanks! That too helps as I've just been through the Inkscape forums without a lot of success (possibly because I don't know what I should be searching for) although I did find some interesting stuff on enabling grid lines and settings by default that I wanted to know. I'm happy to supply you lots of brownie points, but you'll have to tell me how
