Problems exporting gerber files for manufacturing

Thanks for the tip, I’ll save the link for later but I think my problem is more with the files themselves than the company.

I’m trying this now, hope it works, it seems like a good company to buy.

First PCB design feedback

For a first pcb board looks great, I remember my first project… LOL, just a tip for the voltage regulators, as shown in the picture use some capacitors in parallel, it works by stabilizing possible voltage drops.
Once because of a bad contact in the voltage input I had some power peak that resulted in a malfunction of a moisture sensor, maybe I burned his 555.

I’m not clear what this means. Do you think the files Fritzing created are corrupt? If so, if you upload the sketch here (7th icon from the left in the tool bar) one of us will have a look and see if we can correct the problem. Do the gerber files display as you expect in a gerber viewer such as gerbv?

Edit: Another thought, have you run DRC (pcb view->routing->Design Rules Check) in Fritzing? It is possible you have traces too close together and that is what the board house is complaining about (although I think many of the cheap ones just cut a board from the gerber without any checks).

If you have created a custom PCB shape it is really easy to make a mistake that results in no PCB outline being generated at which point you can not make a PCB.

I use Elecrow for my PCBS and I am fairly sure Seeedstudio will also make them from Fritzing Gerbers as well as Dirty PCBs.

I can confirm. I let Seeedstudio produce a pcb with lot of custom parts some weeks ago, all worked very well.

Actually the files are not corrupted, I downloaded GerbV from gEDA’s and when I manually add the files in the program it reads and correctly shows the design, the problem is that when I generate a .zip or .rar file and upload it to some gerber view site or even the manufacturer’s website simply does not load, like something is missing.Gerber Files HERE (I do not have the PNP file because I dont need)

I tried to buy it by Seeed, the problem for me is the shipping price, here for Brazil it’s very expensive. And i also have the problem with the files.

Ordered many times at seeed, never a problem (except on time 3 holes in a row which was not allowed).

You have to laak at the extensions and file names, you probably need to rename them … especially one extension …

I’ll take a look at the names, maybe that’s the problem… thanks,

OOOOOOOMYYYYYYYGOOOOOOOOD, I just can’t believe in my eyes, IT WORKED! The problem was just the name, maybe the special characters i used in “Versão” (Version in english). Thank you man, two days spend just trying to fix it and finally works. Thanks Everyone:joy::laughing:

glad that it works.

i know that on txt file is not necessary and that one extension had to be renamed …

First is this a new installation of Fritzing, or has it been working and suddenly failed? How did you install Fritzing? The best way is to download the zip file from Fritzing.org. That said there look to be 2 different errors. The first is the fritzing dlls are missing or not permitted correctly (the Qt5Svg…dll is missing messages). Since this appears to be Windows, check your installation directory:

C:\fritzing\fritzing.0.9.3b.64.pc
(for me, your path will likely be different). In that directory there should be a file called

Qt5Svg.dll

if it is not there, then your best bet would be to reinstall the zip file (preferably as yourself rather than administrator). As long as you don’t also delete the user directories (which the zip file doesn’t) this shouldn’t affect any existing sketches. The second problem appears to be that the path (the part in from of the svg file name is too long (although I have never seen such a message before). You might try moving the file further up the tree or this may be a side effect of the dll problems. I’d try reinstalling Fritzing and see if that fixes things. As well parts update is currently broken at least on Win 7, so you need to clone the parts repo from github to get the most current parts (although that isn’t likely the problem here).

How to add DHT11 and Adafruit GPS

Hello,

I am new in fritzing. I wanted to ask, how do I add Adafruit Ultimate GPS Breakout version 3, DS18B20 waterproof temperature sensor and Temperature-Humidity Sensor DHT11 that do not exist in fritzing version?

Thank you…

“Does not exist” is a flexible term in Fritzing  , they are not in the standard library shipped with Fritzing but many parts are not. A google search for “fritzing part Adafruit Ultimate GPS Breakout version 3,” and “fritzing part DS18B20” turn both of them up in the Adafruit Fritzing library on github:

https://github.com/adafruit/Fritzing-Library/blob/master/parts/Adafruit%20Ultimate%20GPS%20v3.fzpz

https://github.com/adafruit/Fritzing-Library/blob/master/parts/DS18B20.fzpz

You can either load the entire library in to Fritzing (instructions on Adafruit’s site somewhere as I recall) or just download the 2 fzpz files and then load them in to fritzing via file->open->filename.fzpz which will place them in the mine parts bin ready for use. Other times you may find parts (of varying quality) from other people. If you try and use such a part and it doesn’t work, post a pointer to it here and probably one of us will take a look at it for you. If you can’t find one online post a pointer to the data sheet for the part here and someone may choose to make a new part. Many parts are posted here in the forums and while google will find them as well, using the forum search can be useful as well.

do i just hook the arduino nano to the computer and run the code with fritzing to be able to simulate if it’s working correctly? FYI i already have the breadboard (with the components) built on fritzing

Unfortunately no. The code loading portion of Fritzing isn’t finished and doesn’t at present work for the Arduino (some of the others do work). There is also no simulation in Fritzing so you would need to use the Arduino IDE (or one of the others) to compile and load the program in to the nano and then test it on the breadboard outside of Fritzing to see if it works.
