L293D motor shield

In general a google search of the form “fritizing part L293D motor shield” is a good starting point. This turns up a number of parts, now you only have to pick one that a) works, and b) matches the board you have. If you can’t find one or it isn’t an exact match if you post a pointer to the data for the board you have and/or a part that is almost right one of us may modify the existing part or make a new one for you.

Hello everybody,

I really need your help. I am searching for a simple push button as “normally closed” but I did not find anything. I only found some user comments which said “it ain’t that hard to create this part on your own… using the fritzing editor”.
I tried it but I did not succeed to create one because I need a .svg file. Can you please help me?
Additionally I do not really understand why no one misses a component like this?

Best regards
Peter

I expect that is because to Fritzing there is no real difference between a NC and NO switch (except schematic). That said if you tell me which one of the switches in the core parts bin (there are 8 or 10 of them) you want, or post a link to an external part if that’s what you need, I’ll modify the schematic svg to be NC rather than NO. It matters which button it is for internal connections in the svg.

OK here is a new part copied from that push button. You can load this one along side the one from core to compare the two. I made a number of changes in schematic (shortened it by .1 in, set the picture to a NC push button), if you would rather have the original it is a simple change, so just ask.

I may make a normally open version as well, I see that inspector will now change between the NO and NC versions, but they are different which is messy.

Your S2 has a red pin, so it’s not connected.

OK, I have done 3 PCB’s and now on my 4th one I somehow managed to shrink my PCB to a tiny dot on a blue background. Not sure how I got to the blue background. If I do Zoom it does get larger but it is staying on the lower right portion of the screen the side and bottom screen sliders are all the way in the right corner. More than likely a fat finger error, how do I get it back to normal in the center of the screen and the sliders back to the center of the vertical and horizontal locations.
Thanks

Restore the position of windows and icon parts

How can I restore the position of Parts, Instector windows to the places where they were the first time after installation and how to restore the order of icon categories in the Parts Core window, Mine, Arduino, SparkFun etc. I have changed the order by manually dragging the icons but I want to reset everything to be just like after installation but reinstalling (portable version) does not help, it also does not help to delete Fritzing folders in Docs and AppData. Where are the information about windows and order in the Parts window saved, how to reset them?

The blue is your View/Set Grid size is too small or you are too zoomed out.

Click on the screen and scroll out, or slide slider right.

I see when I looked at the posted url it is the repo for the part itself. The fritzing part is in

as Fritzing_Parts/products/13279_sfe_large_digit_driver.fzpz

which is a fritzing part file. As noted you will need to either extract that particular file from the repo or (probably easier) load the whole repo. There are instructions on how to do that on the Sparkfun site as I recall.

Reinstalling the code from the zip file (I’m not sure what a “portable version” is) and deleting both the user directories (which are not changed during a reinstall to preserve your sketches) should get you back to the initial state. You might try deleting the directory that Fritzing installs in to in case there are files being left around in that directory although I’ve not seen that as a problem before.

Thank you,
Not sure what I did, but I got the PCB larger, although it is still far over to the lower right side of the grid.
Thank you again

It did not help. It turned out that the Fritzing directory is in the registry and all settings of windows, icons, etc. are saved in it.

To move the entire pcb you can left click and drag a select window around it then click on it and move it where you want it to be. That should get it back to the center of the scroll bars.

Interesting, I didn’t know that. The theory has always been that all the data is in either the user directories or the fritzing directory. I guess I’ve never needed to reset the position of the bins and thus never noticed it.

vanepp,
Thank you!!
Worked perfectly… I discovered that somehow a text box navigated its way out of the PCB while I was editing it and disappeared in the dark area which caused the shrinking of the PCB. Once I stumbled across the lost text box, and removed it things got better.
Thanks
