Hallo Old_Grey,
danke schon mal für die schnelle Antwort.
Leider kann ich da keinen Datei mit dem Namen des Sortiments finden....
Ich habe auch schon unter: C:\Users\MP\AppData\Roaming\Fritzing gesucht, aber auch nichts gefunden.
Ich bin im Moment ziemlich sauer. Ich habe gerade ein noch größeres Problem bekommen.
Ich bin seit gestern Abend daran, über 1000 fzpz Dateien in Fritzing zu importieren. Habe mir diese überall mühsam zusammen gesucht. Warum gibt es keine direkte Möglichkeit für Leute, die eine fzpz-Dateien erstellt haben, diese bei Fritzing hochzuladen, damit diese dann wie ein Updatepack für Bauteile nachinstalliert werden kann. So hätten alle Benutzer sofort wieder Nachschub an erstellten Bauteilen. So sucht jeder für sich Teile...
Adafruid macht so etwas mit diesen fzbz-Dateien. Die werden einfach immer wieder neu auf deren Seite veröffentlicht und man braucht sich diese EINE Datei nur herunterladen und installieren und schon hat man alle neuen Bauteile.
Warum macht Fritzing das nicht auch so?????
Die Dateien bei Github zu sammeln finde ich grausam. Ihr habt doch so eine schöne Website, warum woanders hin schwenken??? So etwas muss eigentlich sowieso automatisch passieren. Siehe Arduino-IDE. Da kommt eine Meldung, das es für Boards Updates gibt, fertig. So muss das laufen!!!
Das wichtigste bei so einem Programm finde ich ist die Bauteildatenbank. Weil mir bei Fritzing mehrere wichtige Kleinigkeiten bei der Bedienung fehlen, bin ich auch mal weg von Fritzing und habe mir andere Programme angeschaut.
Da gibt es diese wichtigen Funktionen, aber nicht so einen Pool an Teilen wie bei Fritzing. Vor allen Dingen nicht solche wie von Adafruid etc.. Also eigentlich schon mal ein großer Pluspunkt gegenüber anderen Programmen, aber leider wird dieses nicht voll ausgenutzt.
Dann diese Probleme bein importieren.
Als erstes kann man leider beim importieren nicht mehrere Dateien markieren. Also schön alle Dateien einzeln importieren.......
Da ich nirgends eine Anleitung zur Sortimentsverwaltung gefunden habe (im Netzt nicht und unter Learning- The Part Library ist quasi nur eine Aufzählung) habe ich ein wenig rumprobiert (mit wenigen Dateien) und scheinbar herausgefunden, das man das Sortiment natürlich speichern kann und die Teile aus dem Sortiment in eine fzbz-Datei (siehe Adafruit) speichern kann. Soweit doch toll. Habe ich ein Problem mit Dateien oder Installiere Fritzing auf einem anderem Rechner, brauche ich nur die fzb-Dateien unter Dokumente..bins kopieren. Zusätzlich habe ich noch die Teile nach Dokumente..parts\users exportiert.
Das hat auch zwischendurch gut geklappt. Fritzing beendet, neu gestartet, alles noch da, alles toll.
So, jetzt habe ich die über 200 Dateien importiert zwischendurch gespeichert und exportiert, bis beim verlassen die Frage kam, sollen die Sortimente gespeichert werden. Ich also wieder auf ja und beim Neustart von Fritzing sind alle Dateien nur noch 1k groß. Und es kommt eine Meldung mit "es konnten nicht alle Bauteile gefunden werden"
Kann Fritzing nicht soviel Dateien speichern?? Warum kam die Abfrage, obwohl ich nach dem speichern nichts geändert habe?? Warum sind meine Dateien quasi zerstört.
Ich weiß, das Fritzing noch Betastadium hat, aber soetwas kann doch nicht sein...
Soll ich jetzt zu einem anderem Programm wechseln und es in 1 oder 2 Jahren mal wieder probieren???
Ich finde den Ansatz von Fritzing toll, aber ich habe jetzt Angst, das mir das wieder passiert.
Kann mir also irgendjemand diese Sortimentsverwaltung erklären?
Übrigens fällt mir gerade noch ein, das ich gestern Nacht auch das kleine achteckige Icon der Sortimente ändern wollte. Leider kann man offiziell nur die Farbe ändern, Firmen wie Adafruid haben eigene Icons hinbekommen.....
Zumindest die Farbe sollte man ändern können laut rechter Maustaste darauf. Also Farbe in dem aufpoppendem Fenster geändert, und - nichts passiert, keine Farbänderung..... Toll.

2 mal MINE-Sortimente
Hallo,
ich habe jetzt aus Frust alles gelöscht.
Auch unter:
C: \ users \ username \ AppData \ Fritzing \ roaming \ Fritzing
und
C: \ Benutzer \ Benutzername \ Eigene Dateien \ Fritzing
Habe ein neues Sortiment angelegt, Teile von Core hineingezogen. Dann das Sortiment gespeichert und exportiert. Programm beendet, bei der Frage ob das Sortiment gespeichert werden soll habe ich NEIN gesagt.
So, das Sortiment inkl.Teile sit noch da, aber es gibt das Sortiment jetzt 2mal.
Das ist doch ein Bug, oder........?

Thanks Old_Grey, well I'm new to all this...
I built a breadboard prototype with an Arduino pro mini and a bunch of breakout boards ( two MPR121 capacitive touch breakout boards, a CH340G serial/usb breakout board and four AH180N hall effect switch breakout boards )
I got things working as I wanted and then I used the open source schematics for all of these to draw out schematics in Fritzing dragging in parts from the core parts library, searching for some sparkfun parts and creating some parts myself that were not there based on generic ICs and using the data sheets and package footprints.
I'm not sure what to do next then, I guess I was not aware of best practice. I thought I would just use these Fritzing parts selecting the correct values, and choosing package sizes according to my design. I was then hoping to source and buy the components. Surely all of the parts in the Fritzing libraries are buyable on Digikey? It's just there's so many things on Digikey and I don't know what to go for. What are your suggestions for my next steps?
( Meanwhile I'm building a toaster reflow oven for the assembly and soldering once I get the boards and parts )

I don't often make pcbs so hopefully some of our folks that do will comment about the copper fill settings. That said it looks pretty good, you have realized that fuses are a necessity, and after that you need to check the trace width and copper weight will support the current you expect (and at least briefly, til the fuse blows the current you don't expect in the case of a short 
) without excessive resistive heating in the traces but I don't expect that to be much of a problem here as you look to be running less than 2 amps from the fuse values and the trace runs are rather short.

All is not lost, its just a bit of work. The Fritzing parts are usually generic (as there are so many variations) but with the specs and digikey search you should be able to pick appropriate products. For instance the
above, on digikey search for "Resettable Fuse PTC" (probably want to tick the in stock box, to make sure they have them). That gets you a huge list (2600+ for me right now), so in the filters (in package/ case this time) select 1206 (as that is the case size Fritzing used for the foot print) that reduces your choices to 11. Now you need to figure out how much current (and any other relevant parameters) to select one. At that point you should access the data sheet and make sure the footprint matches the one that Fritzing selected in pcb. That should be the case, but better safe than sorry. Some like the diode and crystal will be a little more exciting because the Fritzing spec doesn't match digikey's but if you pull up the data sheet for the part on digi you should be able to figure out if it has the right footprint after making sure the other needed parameters match (for which the filters are your friend).
(edit: It just struck me that you said "new to all this" which may mean that you are unaware that the ATmega328 from digikey won't have the Arduino boot loader in it and you will need to be able to arrange to program it in. Have you considered using a pro mini board (they are available from a couple of bucks from ebay with a longish delivery by mail, or for about $10 from digikey (where the CPU alone and unprogrammed is $3) before considering the cost of support parts such as the cyrstal. Thats what I usually use as its cheaper (and assembled and programmed with the bootloader) for less than I can buy the CPU let alone the support parts (assuming I buy from ebay).

I can't fully understand everything because Google Translate isn't perfect.
Fritzing looks more professional than other EDA programs, but it is actually a very small development with only a small number of people working on it that don't get paid. KiCad has 1000s working on it because it's simpler. Basically the Breadboard view makes FZ as complicated as a 3D EDA program like Altium.
IN 9.3 they added an auto part updater, but again the small number people means part additions are slow.
If you don't need the Breadboard view, other simpler better supported EDAs might be better.

Just read the part # off the parts in the circuit and Goo search a datasheet.
Things like the "Capacitor Polarized", you would get the value and voltage, and look for a non-polarised version so you don't have to worry about which way you put it on the PCB.
EEVblog has heaps of vids on how to design stuff, like picking parts, finding parts in Digikey, PCB design for manufacturing, etc. Most are at the start.

As far as I know this is a new one. Some suggestions: try deleting the user directories (if one gets corrupted for some reason such as a failed parts update odd things can happen):
c:\users\username\AppData\Fritzing\roaming\Fritzing (which is a hidden directory so you need to enable hidden directories in explorer) and
c:\Users\username\My Documents\Fritzing (where username is your windows id)
If you don't have any parts or sketches you want to keep you can just delete those two directories and Fritzing will receate them, or you can move them aside by renaming them if you want to keep something in them.
If that doesn't work the only other thing I could at the moment suggest is in Friting Help tick enable debugging log which will open a debug window which may provide some illumination (or may not ). Deleting the user directories is probably your best bet though.

Hi Peter, thanks for the reply.
The trace will be about 1 ozCU, so at 3 amps and less than 50mm long I should need about 50mil traces. I have used two 48mil (one top and one bottom) traces per 230V connection so it "should" be enough. However, I would rather have a wider trace on one side of the board and have it surrounded by some Copper Fill which I want to connect to a ground point.
I have seen some talk about increasing the max trace width (currently 48mil) but I can’t find a way to do this. Also, as far as I can find out it is a good idea to have a minimum of 3mm clearance between a Copper Fill and high current traces. I have seen some discussion about changing the Copper Fill clearances in Fritzing but unfortunately nothing definitive.
Does anyone know of a way to increase the trace width and/or increase the Copper Fill to trace separation?

I'n no 240V expert but usually you put high voltages in a corner with large gaps to everything and isolation slots. And then use opto isolaters between the low and high voltages so that they are never in direct contact.
Width is in inspector.
Gnd Fill is in Routing.
EEVblog talks a lot about 240V isolation in products. Too many vids to find something at the moment.

Hallo Old_Grey,
ich bin sehr glücklich mit der Breadboard-Ansicht. Mich stört nur das Problem mit dem Einzeleinfügen der Teile und dem Bug mit den Sortimenten.
Ich habe aber mittlerweile heraus gefunden, egal wie man importiert, das wichtigste ist, das Sortiment zu exportieren.
Dann kann man diese exportierte Datei bei Problemen einfach wieder komplett importieren. Vielleicht wird in einer der nächsten Versionen das Problem ja behoben.
Ich werde auch bei Fritzing bleiben, weil mir das Programm gefällt.
Vielleicht kommt ja auch bald eine neue Fritzingversion mit noch mehr Komfort. Mir fehlt zum Beispiel ein gruppieren der Teile. Dann könnte man eine Gruppe von Teilen als ganzes verschieben.
Das hinter Fritzing nur eine kleine Anzahl Menschen stehen, wusste ich nicht. Und das auch umsonst. Respekt.

Silk Screen Image that covers vias
Hi AlanChen. So in order to get my silkscreen design to cover the vias I've exported a version of the gerbers where I've deleted the vias in question and then copied the silkTop.gbo and the silkBottom.gbo into my main gerber export folder replacing the silkTop.gbo and the silkBottom.gbo that where there.
Will this work as I expect it to? Or do I need to do the same for the maskTop.gts and maskBottom.gbs files?

Hey guys. As I've said, I'm really new to all of this and perhaps in over my head but hey. I'm trying to make my first board on an extreme budget. I'm planning to buy the parts as cut reel strips from cheap Chinese aliexpress sellers.
I now have a BOM spreadsheet with a purchase link for each part.
Do you think if I posted my schematic and my spreadsheet anyone would have time to check them over? Or is that just a bit too much to ask?

No harm in posting the schematic (preferably as an fzz so its readable in frtitzing) the spreadsheet may be more difficult as the forum only accepts some formats. If it won;t upload you could do it like we do for svg files and rename the file to fzpz (which will upload) and tell us to rename it to whatever for use after download. If cost is an issue, I expect that a pro mini is going to be much cheaper than doing an assemble your own CPU, but we will see
